Our medical students are on their way to becoming CPR certified! ❤️

Students across our medical classes are completing the classroom and skills components for the American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

EMT instructor Mr. Prater is leading CPR instruction for our medical classes, helping prepare students with essential skills for their future healthcare careers.

✨ Student Spotlight: Dental Assisting II (DAT II) ✨

Meet Ava Jones from Falkville High School, a student in our DAT II program!

Ava chose Dental Assisting because her goal is to become a dental hygienist. She enjoys working with crowns, but her favorite part of her program is going to clinicals and gaining real-world experience. 🦷

Through the RDP, Ava has strengthened her communication skills and encourages new students to “come on with an open mind, and don’t be nervous!”

Outside of RDP, Ava enjoys shopping and has a unique hobby of collecting antique plates. 🛍️🍽️

We are proud of Ava for gaining valuable hands-on experience and taking steps toward her future in dental hygiene! 🩵

Our Practical Nursing students have been busy building essential skills! 💉

Recently, they’ve been practicing IV insertion, administering IV fluids, and performing phlebotomy in the lab. 🩸

They also attend clinicals each week, where they put what they’ve learned in the classroom and lab into practice with real-world patient care experiences!

✨ Student Spotlight: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) ✨

Meet Annalee Fortenberry from Priceville High School, a student in our Emergency Medical Technician program at RDP!

Annalee chose the EMT program because she wants to help people and be part of the healthcare field. One thing that has surprised her is learning “there are a ton of locations to check pulses that I didn’t know of!” 🩺

She has also grown through working with people she had never met before and enjoys getting a head start on her career while still in high school.

Her advice for other students: “It is a great opportunity to explore the different careers, and you won’t regret doing it! It’s so much fun!”

🎯 Future Goal: Annalee plans to continue working as an EMT while hopefully becoming a nurse of some kind. She hopes to become a great healthcare worker who people have great things to say about. 🚑

We are proud of Annalee for embracing new experiences and taking steps toward a future in healthcare! 💙

We were thrilled to be a vendor at Endless Opportunities today! 🎓✨

We were especially proud to have two of our RDP students, Hailey Lytle from the Physical Therapy Technician program and Lily Breland from the Machine Tool Technology program, take the lead at our booth. They did a fantastic job representing the entire Rural Development Park and showing students what the RDP has to offer!

We were also excited to see a former student and several of our other RDP students representing Calhoun Community College and Morgan County Schools Tech Park at other booths throughout the event. We love our partnership with Calhoun Community College and were proud to see several of our RDP instructors there as well, helping students explore all the possibilities ahead of them.

What a great day of showing local eighth-grade students the endless opportunities available to them in education, career and technical programs, college, and their future careers! We’re so proud of our students and the many ways they represented the RDP throughout the event. 🚀
