WELCOME BACK, HARTS LIONS!

We are incredibly excited to welcome our students back to Harts PK-8 tomorrow! There is always something special about the first day of a new school year, and our staff has worked hard to prepare for a great year ahead. We cannot wait to see our hallways filled with students again!
As we get started, we want to remind everyone of our morning drop-off and afternoon pickup procedures.

Morning Drop-Off
Our doors will open at 7:12 a.m., and staff will be on duty to begin our morning procedures.
At 7:12 a.m., students will exit their buses and enter the building. Once all buses have departed, parents and guardians may begin dropping students off at the front of the school.

Parent drop-off will continue until 7:30 a.m. After 7:30 a.m., the front doors will be closed, and parents/guardians and students will need to use the doorbell for entry.
The final tardy bell rings at 7:37 a.m.

Afternoon Pickup
Buses will begin departing the school at approximately 2:45 p.m. Parent pickup will begin after the buses have departed.
Students being picked up will be dismissed through the gym area.
Regular staff supervision is provided until 3:00 p.m., so we ask that families please make every effort to arrive for pickup before that time.

Important Safety Reminder
During both morning drop-off and afternoon pickup, all vehicles must remain in a single line. Vehicles will not be permitted to pass other vehicles in the pickup/drop-off line.
This is an important safety precaution for our students, families, and staff, and we greatly appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation.

As we begin this new school year, I want our families to know how excited and grateful I am to have the opportunity to serve the students and community of Harts PK-8. A successful school year takes all of us: students, staff, families, and our community, working together, and I truly believe we are going to accomplish some great things this year.

Enjoy the rest of your evening, get those backpacks ready, and we will see our Harts Lions tomorrow morning!
Welcome back, Lions! Let's make it a great year!

Thank you,
Joshua Barnett
Principal, Harts PK-8

Hi! My name is Brandy Vance, and I am so excited to be an elementary teacher! I am 32 years old and am currently in my 5th year of teaching and my 2nd year at Harts PK-8. Teaching is so much more than a job to me—it is something I truly love and feel blessed to do each day.

I became a teacher because I want to make a positive difference in the lives of children. I believe that teachers have an incredible opportunity to help students discover who they are, recognize their strengths, and believe in themselves. A teacher can be the person who encourages a child when they are struggling, celebrates them when they succeed, listens when they need someone to talk to, and reminds them that they are capable of more than they may realize.

One of my favorite things about teaching is watching students grow—not only academically, but also socially, emotionally, and personally. I love seeing the excitement on a student’s face when something finally clicks, watching their confidence grow, and celebrating all of their accomplishments, both big and small. I believe every child deserves to feel valued, supported, capable, and loved in their classroom.

Outside of school, my greatest blessings are my wonderful husband and our beautiful little girl. I love spending time with my family and making memories together. We enjoy playing games, spending time together, and I especially love making crafts and doing fun activities with my daughter and husband.

My faith is also an important part of my life. I am active in my church and I am a preacher’s wife. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve others, grow in my faith, and be part of my church community.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have a career that allows me to learn, grow, laugh, encourage, and make a difference every day. Being a teacher is one of the greatest blessings, and I am thankful for every student who allows me to be a small part of their journey.
