We did it. Our community did it. The kids won. 💙

Yesterday, our community showed up in a big way.

This is what community looks like.

We said Yes to our kids.
Yes to our school.
Yes to investing in our future.

And it took all of us.

Thank you, truly, to every single person who supported this effort.
Every volunteer.
Everyone who came to a meeting.
Took a flyer.
Asked a question.
Had a conversation with a neighbor.
Put up a sign.
Liked a post.
Jumped into the comments.

We would not be here today without you.

To our community members who don’t currently have students at LCS. Thank you for showing up for something bigger than yourselves.

To our LCS families. Thank you for showing up, speaking up, and fighting for something so special.

To our staff. Thank you for showing up for our kids every single day with heart and consistency, even in the face of uncertainty.

To our administration. Thank you for leading, educating, and answering every question along the way.

To our YES leadership team. You were the driving force behind this. Your time, your energy, and your belief made this possible.

This was community. Showing up for each other.

And because of that, our school moves forward.
Our kids are supported.
Our community is stronger.

Now we keep going. Together.

Thank you, Lake Country. 💙

Today’s the day. This is it. 💙

All of it. The conversations, the support, the signs, the quiet yeses. It all comes down to today.

To who shows up.

💙 For Lake Country School District.
💙 For our kids.
💙 For this community.
💙 For stability. And what comes next.

The ask:
$800,000 a year, for 4 years.
$13 per $100,000 of home value.
$65 a year on a $500K home.

That’s it.

Not later.
Not hoping someone else will.

Us. Today.

This community will be decided by the people who show up today. Let’s show up in big ways, Lake Country!

This is our chance.

No more hypotheticals.
No more back and forth.

This is the moment where everything becomes real.

Tomorrow is the vote.

Our school.
Our kids.
Our community.

And it will come down to who shows up.

Don’t assume someone else will.

Make your plan.
Bring a neighbor.
Have that last conversation.
Reposition that yard sign.

Every small, intentional act helps.

The ask:
$800,000/year for 4 years. $13 per $100K of home value. $65/year on a $500K home.

Last Saturday before April 7.

Four days.

This is where it’s decided.

Make a plan.

Schedules fill up.
Days move fast.

Don’t leave this to chance.
Don’t assume someone else will show up.

This comes down to those who support Lake Country School.
Those who choose our community school.
Those who show up — for our kids.

The ask:
$800,000/year for 4 years
$13 per $100K of home value

This is about more than today.

It’s about the kind of community we’re building.
Right now.

The kind of place families choose to move to.
The kind of place people are proud to come back to.
The kind of place we’re proud to call home.

Because people notice what a community chooses to invest in.

In its schools.
In its kids.
In its future.

Strong schools are part of that.

They don’t just serve students -
they shape the long-term strength, stability, and identity of a community.

And once those things are lost, they’re not easily rebuilt.

What we decide now doesn’t just impact today -
it carries forward.

The ask:
$800,000 per year, for four years.
For context, that’s about:
$13 per $100,000 of home value - per year.

What kind of community do we want to be?

That’s really what this comes down to.

Since 2022, approximately $1.6 million has already been cut.

That’s teachers.
That’s programs like band and strings.
That’s opportunities that used to exist and no longer do.

The belt has been tightened.

There isn’t some hidden layer left to trim.

At some point, “cut more” stops being an idea —
and starts impacting what kids experience every day.

And lately, some of the suggestions being thrown around about how to “solve” this…
should give all of us pause.

Because the way we talk about our schools —
and the way we talk about our kids — matters.

All of our kids.

Kids are not line items.

And the decisions we make now will shape this community for years to come.

The ask:
$800,000 per year, for four years.
For context, that’s about:
$13 per $100,000 of home value — per year.

Why is a referendum even needed?

Because this isn’t about quick fixes.

It’s about creating stability.
The ability to take a breath and continue the work that’s already been happening.

Since 2022, leadership has made difficult decisions, reduced costs, and worked to put the district on more stable footing.

But we can’t undo the past overnight.

And we can’t continue moving forward without a stable foundation.

This allows that work to continue. Thoughtfully, responsibly, and with intention.

The ask:
$800,000 per year, for four years.
For context, that’s about:
$13 per $100,000 of home value per year.

One week from now, this conversation is over.

No more posts.
No more debates.
No more “what ifs.”

Just the outcome.

If there were another realistic solution, it would already be in place.

There isn’t.

This is the decision in front of us.

The ask:
$800,000 per year, for four years.

For context, that’s about:
$13 per $100,000 of home value - per year.

Take the time.
Understand it.

And make a plan to show up.
This is your chance to help shape what comes next.

This is the part people don’t say out loud.

A lot of the conversation right now feels loud —
comments, posts, opinions.

But here at LCS, something else is happening too.

People are paying attention.

They’re reading.
They’re asking questions.
They’re taking the time to understand what’s actually in front of us as a community.

Not everyone is commenting.
But that doesn’t mean they aren’t engaged.

And while this conversation is happening here, it’s not unique to our community.

There are 70+ districts across Wisconsin having these same discussions right now.

Different communities.
Same underlying challenges.

Which means this is bigger than one school, one post, or one thread.

It’s about how communities like ours choose to move forward.

Trying to make sense of everything being said right now? Start here.

If you’re still forming your opinion or trying to sort through everything being said right now about Lake Country School District, that’s completely fair.

There’s a lot out there. And not all of it tells the full story.

The district has shared resources that walk through the facts, the numbers, and the current situation.

Take a few minutes to review the information directly from the source - it’s one of the best ways to understand what’s actually being asked and why.

Because this decision matters.
And it deserves a closer look - beyond the headlines and comment threads.

Understanding leads to better decisions.

Spring break is here for many of our local families ☀️

Whether you’re traveling or staying close to home, we hope this week brings a chance to slow down, recharge, and enjoy some time together.

As you’re planning your week, take a moment to also plan ahead for April 7.

If you’ll be out of town, voting early is a simple way to make sure your voice is still heard.

Don’t assume someone else will show up.

That’s how votes like this are lost.

These are the kids of Lake Country School District.

The friendships.
The classrooms.
The traditions.
The experiences they carry with them for years.

And in the end, it doesn’t come down to opinions or posts.

It comes down to turnout.

Spring break is here.
Schedules are off. People are traveling.

And that’s exactly when it’s easiest to think,
“someone else will take care of it.”

But this only works if we show up.

If you’re leaving town → vote absentee before you go
If you’re staying → make a plan now

Find your polling place: https://myvote.wi.gov

And one more thing.

Don’t just vote.

Bring one person with you.

👉 Comment “I’m in” if you’ve made your plan
👉 Tag the person you’re bringing

Let’s finish strong. 💙

Our community. Our kids. Our future.
