This weekend, Hartland DECA loaded up the buses and traveled to Downtown Detroit to compete in Michigan DECAβs State Career Development Conference.
The event was held at Huntington Place, where our 82 conference qualifiers competed against high school students from across the state. The conference also gave our students the opportunity to network, explore Detroit with their chapter members, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Students worked hard with the goal of becoming state champions in their events and qualifying for the International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, which will take place April 25β29. When all was said and done, Hartland DECA finished with:
π 3 State Champions: Becca Brock, Jocelyn Petersen, Mackenzie Haverstick
π
17 State Finalists: Raygan Barber, Caylin Lindsay, MJ Hoskins, Jack Lansing, Aidan Oake, Elliana Neuer, Charlotte Brucato, Annie Scott, Kendra Ross, Leah Libkuman, Alice Williams, Dean Tormey, Dane Dunbar, Isabella Ulrich, Alani Klumpp, Kyle Whitney, Nathaniel MacDermaid
Our three state champions will be joined by Jaxon Fredette and Raygan Barber, who qualified for the International Conference through their School-Based Enterprise project, which focuses on the retail operations of our school store.
A special shoutout also goes to Hartlandβs own, Ben Clay, whose term as Michigan DECA State President completed today. We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication you have put into DECA, not only at Hartland, but at the state level as well.
Congratulations to everyone who competed this year!
