Need work done at your home? Our skilled students can take on off-campus construction projects and deliver quality results at a fraction of the market cost. Every project is completed under the supervision of licensed and experienced CTECS instructors, so you can feel confident in the work while supporting student learning.

Congratulations to the graduates of the 2026 United Illuminating Summer Trade Internship Program! 🎓

We’re proud to see so many CTECS students take part in this 10-week program, gaining hands-on experience and developing valuable technical skills for careers in the electric and natural gas industries.

The 4th Annual Protective Services Summer Academy, in partnership with the Connecticut State Police, wrapped up today with a graduation ceremony at the Connecticut State Police Academy! 🎓🚔

Over the past two weeks, students got an inside look at the many career paths within public safety. Their experiences included policing basics, a tour of Troop H, the TSA Explosive Detection K-9 Unit, Drone Unit, Speed Laser training, Aviation Unit, Major Crimes Squad, Fire & Explosives Investigation, a correctional facility tour, and much more.

At CTECS, our Criminal Justice and Protective Services program allows students to explore careers through hands-on, real-world experiences, and this Summer Academy took that learning even further.

Congratulations to all of our graduates, and a huge thank you to the Connecticut State Police, A. I. Prince Technical High School criminal justice instructors, and our School Resource Officers for making this incredible experience possible!

As another school year comes to a close, we're celebrating more than just graduations, we're celebrating the next generation of Connecticut's skilled workforce!

Over the past week, thousands of CTECS seniors crossed the stage and began their next chapter. Some are entering apprenticeships or joining the military, others are continuing their education, and many are already stepping into high-demand careers across Connecticut. Their success reflects a year filled with growth across CTECS.

This year our students earned more than 15,000 industry credentials, and 1,300 juniors and seniors participated in work-based learning. We also expanded partnerships with industry, higher education, and state agencies, launched new career pathways, and continued investing in the programs and resources that prepare students for successful futures.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We can't wait to see where your skills, determination, and hard work take you next.

Thank you to Call 811 Before You Dig for its generous $14,000 donation to support the EC Goodwin Technical High School Landscape Design, Installation & Equipment program!

Representatives from Call Before You Dig visited students today to present the donation and discuss the importance of safe excavation practices for construction professionals and homeowners alike, giving students insight into why calling before you dig is essential to protecting people and underground infrastructure.

At CTECS, students in our construction trades complete an excavator education course through Call Before You Dig, earning an industry-recognized certification that employers value and seek when hiring.

We are grateful for Call Before You Dig’s continued support and look forward to building on this partnership in the years ahead.

CTECS recently has had the pleasure of welcoming the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), to three of our technical high schools - Howell Cheney Technical High School, A. I. Prince Technical High School, and Eli Whitney Technical High School.

These visits provided Commissioner Bryan Cafferelli and members of the DCP team with a firsthand look at the learning experiences taking place in our schools. From construction and manufacturing to criminal justice and culinary arts, they had the opportunity to see students developing the technical skills and hands-on experience that prepare them for careers in Connecticut’s workforce.

At our final stop at Eli Whitney Tech, we were also joined by Commissioner Danté Bartolomeo and team of the Connecticut Department of Labor, further strengthening the conversation around workforce development.

As the agency responsible for licensing many of Connecticut’s skilled trades professionals, DCP plays an important role in the career pathways our students pursue after graduation. These visits created opportunities to deepen our understanding of one another’s work and explore new ways to collaborate.
