During this daylong event, more than 150 students showcased their work across a wide range of disciplines - sharing original research, artistic projects, and creative works through presentations, posters, performances, exhibitions, and panel discussions.

At Eastern Connecticut State University, an innovative new partnership is bringing theatre and social work students together for a one-of-a-kind simulation experience—preparing both groups for success in their future careers.
Hosted in the nursing simulation lab at Windham Hospital, this program creates a safe, hands-on learning environment where social work students can practice real-world clinical skills. Meanwhile, theatre students step into the role of “standardized patients,” using their acting and improvisation talents to portray realistic, unscripted scenarios.
The result? A dynamic, realistic clinical exchange that strengthens practical skills for both groups.

Southern Connecticut State University has been awarded a $210,000 grant from the Davis Educational Foundation to strengthen one of the most essential aspects of healthcare — emotional intelligence.
This funding will support innovative training in “soft skills” for nursing students, helping them better care for patients, collaborate with colleagues, and maintain their own well-being. The program will be delivered through Southern’s state-of-the-art Simulation Lab in the College of Health and Human Services, creating hands-on, real-world learning experiences.

Eight nursing students from Central Connecticut State University recently took their learning beyond the classroom and into the heart of real-world healthcare.
As part of Central’s new Spanish Certificate for Health Professionals, they traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for an immersive experience at the University of Puerto Rico’s Medical Sciences Campus. These future nurses stepped into a fully Spanish-speaking clinical environment – navigating doctor-patient interactions, understanding clinical procedures, and gaining insight into healthcare delivery in a new cultural setting.
