A Panel about The Constitution's Impact on Our Lives - Thursday, March 26, 4:30 p.m. in the Rittenberg Lounge, Mather Hall.
With battles intensifying over reproductive and trans rights, immigration, and higher education, many turn to the Constitution to answer questions of fairness, justice, and democracy. In this timely panel discussion, constitutional law scholar Madiba Dennie joins Trinity College faculty Prof. Mary Dudas (Political Science), Prof. Shane Gleason (Public Policy, Advisory Board), Prof. Kevin McMahon (Political Science), and Prof. Lucius Couloute (Sociology, Advisory Board) to explore how we view the Constitution generally, the balance of power, the meaning of equality, and the scope of citizenship today. Engaging with Originalism, the politics of the Supreme Court, and the lived consequences of constitutional law (or lack of adherence to it), panelists will confront the questions: Can the Constitution save us? Or: is it part of the problem? This event will start at 4:30 p.m. in the Rittenberg Lounge, Mather Hall.
