Center for Hartford Engagement and Research at Trinity College

This past summer, Trinfo hosted a series of cooking classes with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford! Our final classes took place last week, made possible through generous donations and support from Whole Foods.

Whole Foods and Costco have generously donated groceries and food, helping us continue offering these fun and educational cooking classes to the Hartford community. We’re so grateful for their support and for everyone who helped make this summer’s program a success! 🍎🥕👩‍🍳

📚 Become a Trin-HMTCA Tutor!

Want to support students in Hartford? Trinity students are invited to tutor and mentor middle & high school students at Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy (HMTCA) this semester.

✏️ Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2:30–4:30 PM
🎓 Fulfills a Wellness (WELL) Requirement — Civic & Environmental Engagement
🤝 Work one-on-one with HMTCA students to support their academic growth

Requirements: a passion for mentoring, availability both days, and a 3.0 GPA (waived for first-years).

From sharpening their storytelling skills in the Summer Writing Institute with The Writing Center | Trinity College to exploring their futures in Designing Your College Experience with Career & Life Design Center, it’s been a summer of growth, creativity, and fun! We had such an amazing fun time!

The Liberal Arts Action Lab is now accepting research proposal submissions for the 2026 calendar year! This is an opportunity to collaborate with Trinity College and CT State Community College faculty and student researchers to explore issues that matter most to your organization and the Hartford community.

Whether you’re interested in housing, education, public health, transportation, youth development, environmental justice, or another community issue, we want to hear your ideas.

Our Public Humanities Collaborative summer projects are officially underway! ☀️📚

PHC students visited the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History last week, where they explored exhibits and artwork highlighting Hartford’s rich history, culture, and community stories. We’re excited to see how these experiences shape their work throughout the summer!

This past week at Trinfo, we were able to give away computer monitors to community patrons. A couple of weeks ago, in collaboration with South Park Inn, we also distributed care packages at Trinfo. 💙

Trinfo continues to grow as a community-centered third space, offering support and resources through partnerships with Hartford organizations, Trinity College, and community partners. Thank you to everyone who helps make this work possible!
