CT State Capital is gearing up for our next cohort of paramedics! Applications for the fall “day” program open on June 1, 2026.

Please note, the paramedic program participates in the Connecticut State Community College selective admissions process and eligible applicants must hold current EMT certification and the additional credentials noted here: https://ctstate.edu/admissions-registration/how-to-apply/selective-admissions -studies-certificatecampuses:-capital

To guarantee a spot in cohort 68, prospective students are encouraged to apply before June 30, 2026. Applicants who miss the selective admissions deadline will be offered a spot on the waitlist and/or, may choose the option to defer admission until the next cohort that begins in January 2027 (our night program that meets on Tue/Thur evenings).

Please join us in congratulating Amie Lee on completing precepting and obtaining Medical Control through Hartford Hospital for independent dispatch! 🚑👏

Amie started with Aetna Ambulance Service in December 2022, making this her very first EMS job. She went on to attend Capital Community College Paramedic Program and has worked hard to reach this milestone.

Congratulations, Amie, we’re proud of you and excited to watch your career continue to grow!

🚨 Attention, all Capital Community College Paramedic Program Alumni! 🚨

2026 will mark 40 years (🤯) since the first cohort of Capital Paramedics graduated from the Saint Francis Hospital / Hartford State Technical College EMS education partnership.

65 cohorts and nearly 1,500 graduates later, we are gearing up to celebrate numerous milestones in 2026! One exciting highlight will include the ongoing renovations to our new state-of-the-art EMS lab 🚑

The ask: Help us decorate our new space!

In addition to dedicated classroom, laboratory, and simulation space, there will be a collaborative area where students can learn about the history of the program. We are hoping to collect:

📸 Photos (Polaroids will be accepted 😉)

🎞️ Historical information / memorabilia

🛡️ Service Patches (reflecting the agencies where graduates spent their career)
