The Capitol Child Development Center (CCDC) has been in operation since 1988 and was created as a model program by the Connecticut General Assembly to provide quality child care services for children 8 weeks through 5 years of age. We offer full-year, full-day early care and education for up to 70 children from Hartford and its surrounding areas. We are committed to providing a diverse learning environment that nurtures a professional staff, recognizes the individual needs of children and provides support to their families in partnership with varied community resources. CCDC is a unique facility due to its extraordinary teaching staff; all teachers have degrees and have a wealth of experience in child development. Many of our staff have been here at CCDC for over 10 years and some as long as 15 years, which is unrivalled in our field. CCDC welcomes children regardless of ability or disability. Our programs are designed to develop in children a sense of independence and responsibility. We desire to strengthen each child's own cultural identity, while instilling a respect for others who may be different. We continually work to earn the trust placed in us.
