Aaron's "Free the lobsters" campaign finally paid off and C&S stopped selling them.

Trying to convince people that carob is really a tasty alternative to chocolate and failing miserably.

Across the street there was Agneta's Books and Things and The Reader's Feast.

Where Cheese & Stuff was originally located on Sisson Ave.

Looking for any photos relating to C&S to fill out our album. Seeing that the Cheese existed before camera phones (and even before cell phones were common) pictures are extremely rare. If you have anything related to the store, please upload it here.

"Wait, is that Wendy O Williams?"

Worse: People sneaking in the out door after the store is closed to get "One more thing".

After the store is closed and the door locked, people jiggling the handle, banging on the window, and asking, "Are you open?"

Having to memorize hundreds of PLU codes for produce and bulk items (bananas: 4042).

Losing power in the store (again) and having to use calculators and guessing weights on produce and bulk items with lines dipping back into the HBA and and housewares isles. Even lowballing on weights, people still thinking they're getting ripped off.

Ok, then how about the homeless guy (can't remember his name) who used to come in smelling like rotten cabbage wrapped in dirty sweaty socks to return bottles and cans. He wore about 5 layers of ragged sweaters and a winter hat all year round and even in the sweltering summer heat. None of the cashiers could stomach the stench, so I always took care of him. He was actually a really cool guy.

Anyone remember the "change 1st" fanatic? I used to give him his change last just to get a rise out of him. He would go off on a rant about how important it was to give him his change 1st.
