Some moments change direction.
For many students, the path to college can feel confusing, overwhelming, or even out of reach. That’s why the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha’s Beta Sigma Lambda Chapter and BSL Educational Foundation are proud to support the Go-To-High School, Go-To-College Conference — a program designed to help students see what’s possible and prepare for what’s next.
This isn’t just another event.
It’s a day focused on exposure, mentorship, and opportunity.
Students will hear from speakers, participate in breakout sessions, receive free professional headshots, and connect with resources that can help shape their academic journey.

The BSL Educational Foundation proudly hosted the 18th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Contest, centered on this year’s powerful theme: “Speak Truth to Power.”
What an extraordinary afternoon of courage, conviction, and excellence.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the brothers of bslalphas, sponsorsc community partners and judges (Billie Scruse, Amir Johnson and Robin Smith) whose continued investment makes this platform possible. Your support ensures that our students have meaningful opportunities to develop their voices, leadership skills, and confidence.
A special thank you to First Cathedral Church Bloomfield Ct and Bro. LeRoy Bailey III (chair) for graciously hosting this year’s contest and providing a space worthy of the brilliance on display. We also commend the schools and educators who prepared and supported their students — your commitment to cultivating excellence was evident in every speech delivered.
To our middle and high school orators: you inspired us. Each participant demonstrated preparation, poise, and a deep understanding of Dr. King’s legacy. You reminded us that young leaders are ready to engage critically, speak boldly, and challenge systems with integrity and truth.
Congratulations to all of our award recipients in both divisions. Your hard work and dedication were on full display, and we celebrate your achievements.
At BSL Educational Foundation, we remain committed to empowering the next generation of scholars, leaders, and change-makers.
The future is bright — and it is already speaking.
