Second graders learned a bit about Kwanzaa and played a rock passing game from Ghana, Africa. Instead of rocks, we used rhythm sticks. The students enjoyed playing elimination style!

Our virtual winter concert recordings are finished at both schools! After not performing for two full years, the students were both excited and nervous to finally share their music with others. They worked very hard and did an excellent job!

3rd graders at OQS performing “Falling Leaves.”

It’s been a busy fall in the WRS and OQS Music Rooms! Recently, the students have been performing music about autumn. Here are some awesome 3rd graders performing “Falling Leaves.” They analyzed the phrases in the song, decoded the rhythms, created scarf movements to show the melodic contour, and finally added instruments! 🍁 🍂
