The World Affairs Council of Connecticut brings world-renowned speakers to Connecticut and plays an important role in promoting international business, education and trade. Activities include business luncheons, panel discussions, public forums, and coordinating the Model United Nations program for Connecticut high school students as well as a robust variety of additional educational programs.

Today, the World Affairs Council of Connecticut and our partners had the honor of hosting a delegation of military leaders from countries as part of a seminar with the .

They joined leaders from The Connecticut National Guard, AdvanceCT, Pratt & Whitney, ACM, and Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs - as well as Congressman Joe Courtney, Consul General of Germany in Boston Dr. Sonja Kreibich, and Bob Ross, Director of the CT Office of Military Affairs, for a session on the military and defense ecosystem here in CT.

is home to some of the nation’s most critical military and defense assets, with a global impact on , , and . As a hub of advanced manufacturing, naval engineering, and aerospace technology, the state sits at the center of the defense systems that shape security around the world.

On February 19th, the Council hosted a conversation on Immigration, Enforcement, and Human Rights with Kica Matos, President of the National Immigration Law Center, moderated by Council CEO Megan Torrey.
