UConn School of Public Policy Professor Deneen Hatmaker will present her research at the Academy of Management Conference!

Her paper, "Censorship of Public Libraries: Strategic Responses to Organizational Identity Threats,"*will be featured in the paper session, "Institutional Learning in Times of Crisis for Public and Nonprofit Managers," on Tuesday, August 4, from 1:15–2:45 p.m. EDT. The research examines how public libraries are responding to censorship and organizational identity threats while protecting their missions and serving their communities.

UConn SPP is proud to be represented at the International Society for Third Sector Research (ISTR) Conference, taking place July 14–17, 2026, in Lisbon, Portugal.

Faculty members Beth Katz and Angela Eikenberry will attend ISTR 2026, joining scholars and practitioners from around the world to advance research and conversations on the nonprofit and third sectors.

During the conference, Angela Eikenberry will present "Imagining a Polyvocal and Pluriversal Nonprofit and Philanthropic Studies Future” and moderate "International Cooperation, Aid, and Decent Work.” Beth Katz will present “The value of transnational activism and collaboration for third sector fortitude and vitality: evidence and possibilities from the immigrant inclusion field.”
