Future PAs. Real Equipment. Real Experience.

Recently, students in our Knoxville Physician Assistant program participated in an interactive Orthopedic Device Fair, where they explored commonly used orthopedic equipment and learned directly from industry experts.

Thanks to the support of Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic, students gained valuable insight into orthopedic devices and osteoporosis treatment options, including Tymlos and Evenity. They also learned about advanced wound coverage technology featuring Restrata.

Representatives from DePuy Synthes provided an engaging, hands-on experience with orthopedic spine hardware, allowing students to practice placing screws while gaining a better understanding of surgical techniques and instrumentation.

Learning opportunities like this bridge the gap between the classroom and clinical practice, equipping our future physician assistants with the knowledge and confidence to provide exceptional patient care.

LMU-SMS Tampa PA Students Shine at FAPA Annual Symposium

The LMU-SMS Tampa Physician Assistant Class of 2027 recently represented the program with excellence at the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants (FAPA) Annual Symposium during the Challenge Bowl competition.

The team delivered an outstanding performance, dominating the opening round and earning praise from judges, attendees, and PA professionals throughout the event. Even beyond the competition, students demonstrated impressive medical knowledge and professionalism, confidently engaging with educational sessions and discussions throughout the symposium.

"This is a true testament to how well the class as a whole is absorbing, retaining, and mastering the complex medical knowledge from your coursework," shared Program Director Dr. Paul Lawrence. "Throughout the entire symposium, our faculty and students consistently modeled professionalism, engagement, and a passion for our profession."

The LMU-SMS Harrogate Physician Assistant Class of 2027 recently hosted the Sundown Rundown, bringing together students, faculty, alumni, and community members for an evening of fitness, fun, and service.

Thanks to the incredible support of participants and sponsors, all proceeds from the event will benefit Servolution Health Services in Speedwell, Tennessee, helping provide essential healthcare services to those in need.

Congratulations to Jordan Fultz on receiving two distinguished honors from the LMU–SMS Medical Laboratory Science program for Spring 2026!

Jordan was recognized with the Bill Engle Sr. Award of Academic Excellence in Medical Laboratory Science, the program’s highest academic honor presented to the graduating student with the highest GPA in the class.

Jordan also received the B. J. Kermit Bailey Award of Leadership in Medical Laboratory Science, presented to a senior who has demonstrated exceptional leadership within the MEDLS program.
