40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Jay Miles ('24)!

Dr. Jay Miles is a licensed veterinarian in Virginia and Tennessee and a United States Department of Agriculture–accredited veterinarian in Virginia, bringing a strong blend of clinical expertise and academic leadership to his work. He serves as Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Program Director of the Veterinary Medical Technology Program, and Assistant Professor of Veterinary Science at the Lincoln Memorial University Richard A. Gillespie College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Miles is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, the Phi Zeta Veterinary Medicine Honor Society, and the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. He regularly attends and presents at professional conferences, most recently delivering a lecture in 2025, and was recently published in the Journal of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators. In addition to his academic and professional work, Dr. Miles is active in his community, contributing his time to RAM Spay/Neuter Clinics and serving as President of the Lee County Livestock Association.

Dr. Jenae Matikke serves as an Assistant Professor of Business and Leadership, where she lectures and develops curriculum for both on-ground and online courses. In addition to her academic role, she is the owner of Love Language Services, where she leverages her Spanish proficiency to instruct and tutor learners, conduct interviews, and translate documents. Ms. Matikke has over 17 years of organizational leadership experience. A sought-after public speaker, she has been featured as a spoken-word artist both nationally and internationally. Deeply committed to community service and dedicated to cultural engagement and outreach, she has served on several boards and in communities across the globe.

40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Savannah Maples ('15)!

Savannah Maples is a dedicated nursing professional and educator who earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and master's in leadership and management from Western Governors University. She began her career in the emergency room before transitioning to UT Hospice, where she served as a case manager and later as the clinical director of palliative care. She also held leadership roles as Director of Nursing at Landmark Recovery Addiction Center and as a nurse manager at McNabb Center’s Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) before ultimately entering the field of education. She now plays a vital role in preparing the next generation of nurses by delivering high-quality, relevant education that meets today’s healthcare demands. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she serves as an advisor to select students each quarter, actively participates on institutional committees, and contributes to quarterly pinning ceremonies celebrating student achievement. Her clinical and professional skill set includes certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), with experience in multiple electronic medical record systems, including MedHost, HCHB, Aprima, and Sunwave.

40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Bryan Maner ('18, '26)!

Dr. Bryan Maner serves as an Associate Manager at the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE), where he advances STEM workforce development initiatives that support the next generation of scientists, engineers, and research professionals at the federal level. In his role, he works to expand access to meaningful research and educational opportunities for students and recent graduates, helping to strengthen and broaden participation in the future STEM workforce. He is actively engaged in the broader professional community. He is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the National Postdoctoral Association (NPA), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). Bryan is currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration at Lincoln Memorial University, where he also earned his MBA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Business Management and Psychology from Tennessee Technological University.

40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Rachelle Kuhn ('20)!

Rachelle Kuhn is a respected leader in the Northwestern Ohio region and co-owner of LVL Up Sports Academy, where she supports and develops the youth sports community. As standout athlete, Rachelle played volleyball collegiately at a Division I institution and was recently named the #3 Female Athlete of the Century by The Crescent News. In 2021, during her work at the Defiance County General Health District, she received the United Way of Defiance County’s One Step at a Time Grant for her role in creating the Defiance County East Mental Health Walking Trail, promoting wellness and community engagement. Rachelle has also contributed to the academic field with published work in the Journal of New Studies in Sport Management, reflecting her commitment to both athletics and research.
