Our Final 2026 40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Courtney Walker ('18)!

Courtney Walker is a legal entrepreneur and founder of Court Approved, PLLC, a legal education and consulting firm that supports founders in private-pay medicine, including aesthetics, wellness, hormone therapy, and regenerative medicine practices. Through her work, she has scaled accessible legal solutions for healthcare entrepreneurs, assisting more than 350 businesses in 2025. Walker is particularly passionate about empowering underserved founders, including women, parents, and first-generation entrepreneurs, by making legal knowledge more accessible and actionable. She is a founding member of the MedSpa Board and serves as the Tennessee State Chapter Chair for the American MedSpa Association, where she contributes to industry standards, education, and policy discussions. In addition, she is committed to mentorship, regularly guiding LMU law students in career development, ethical practice, and navigating the legal profession.

40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Dr. Mackenzie Treece ('17, '21)!

Dr. Mackenzie Treece is a compassionate veterinarian dedicated to providing exceptional care to pets and their families at every stage of life. Since earning her veterinary credentials in 2021, she has served as a primary care veterinarian, emergency clinician and is now the owner of Five Rivers Pet Emergency Hospital. Under her leadership, the hospital has expanded its services, extended to 24/7/365 operations, and is preparing for a larger facility in early 2026. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Treece manages the practice, supporting her team in professional growth and excellence in patient care. She is also active in giving back to the university, volunteering as a speaker for Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine’s Launch Week.

40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Kayla Swiney ('13, '17)!

Kayla Swiney is the Director of Bar Success at the Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law, where she oversees bar preparation initiatives and supports students and graduates through the bar exam and admissions process. A lawyer with experience in private practice and as an appellate law clerk for judges on the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals, Swiney joined LMU Law as a full-time faculty member in the summer of 2023. She provides faculty training on bar prep and academic success, including preparing students for the NextGen Uniform Bar Exam being developed by the National Conference of Bar Examiners. During her time on the academic and bar success team, she contributed to a 21% increase in the school’s first-time bar passage rate over two years, and now leads the Bar Studies Program, helping aspiring attorneys successfully enter the legal profession.

40 Under Forty Honoree Spotlight ✨ Congratulations to Dr. Hannah Stewart ('17)!

Dr. Hannah Stewart is a dedicated physician specializing in internal and geriatric medicine, having completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Carolinas HealthCare System and a Geriatric Medicine Fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She holds medical licenses in multiple states and is board-certified in internal medicine with a geriatric subspecialty through the American Board of Internal Medicine. As one of the few geriatricians serving rural Appalachia, Dr. Stewart provides compassionate care to patients during some of life’s most vulnerable stages, particularly end-of-life care. She was the keynote speaker at Appalachian State University’s Aging Well Conference in May 2025, where she presented on healthy aging and prevention in Appalachia. Actively engaged in professional organizations, presentations, and scholarly work, her contributions to the field have also been published in Psychological Services, reflecting her commitment to advancing care for aging populations.
