Our fourth graders visited Pierce's Sugar Spigot during this Maple Month to learn how maple syrup is made. Did you know New York State ranks second in the nation in maple production?

Congratulations to our March Student of the Month, Jaron Shelton!

We are proud to recognize Jaron, a 9th grade student who shows an outstanding commitment to growth, perseverance, and personal responsibility.

Over the past several weeks, Jaron has shown remarkable determination in improving both his academic performance and classroom behavior. His effort has not gone unnoticed. Teachers have consistently observed increased focus, stronger engagement in learning, and willingness to take accountability.

We are incredibly proud of the strides he has made and the example he is setting for his peers. Keep up the hard work, Jaron!

March magic was in the air at HCS this week! ☘🌈

Some of our littlest learners went on a Leprechaun Hunt at school. They made traps, and used magical magnifying lenses and telescopes to look for the leprechaun who had made a mess around school. Hints of green were everywhere!

Get ready for a mysterious and spooky night of entertainment at HCS!

Students are just about one week away from presenting this year's spring musical: "The Addams Family."

Opening night is Friday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. with a second performance the following day, Saturday, March 21 at 2 p.m. The shows will take place at the HCS auditorium and are free for anyone to attend, though donations are always appreciated. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Ronda Theriault, our March Pirate Passion Award winner!

Ronda goes above and beyond in two vital roles for our district, working as a dedicated library aide and bus garage assistant.

In the library, she creates a warm, organized environment where students are inspired to explore, read, and learn. Behind the scenes in the bus garage, she keeps transportation running smoothly, completing all the necessary paperwork, helping to ensure our students arrive safely and on time each day. Her flexibility, reliability, and positive attitude embody the true Pirate spirit.

We are incredibly grateful for the many ways she supports our students, staff, and families every single day! Congratulations and thank you, Ronda!

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words...try 1,000 points! 🏆🏀

Congratulations to senior Violet Atkinson for securing her spot in HCS history! Violet bucketed her thousandth career point during the girls varsity semifinal game against Edwards-Knox this week.

She said this is a goal she's been dreaming about since middle school. She wants to inspire younger girls to see that through hard work and dedication, they can do anything.

We've got another playoff game on the horizon and we're once again looking for community support! The Harrisville girls varsity basketball team is taking on Edwards-Knox for the Section X Semifinal!

The game will be tomorrow: Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. at SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Hall.

Congratulations to our 8th grade Student of the Month: Angelina Shippee!

Angelina is a bright spot in the classroom. She is always polite to both her classmates and teachers, and when asked to do a task, she's happy to complete it without hesitation. Beyond academics, she's a team player. Always willing to help anyone in need, Angelina is kind and shows compassion for others.

Help us in congratulating our 7th grade student of the month, Bernadette Lobby!

Bernadette is always on top of her academic work and excels at it. She is always willing to participate in class discussions and activities.
