There's a couple more habitat projects...
These students are so creative and have taught me so many things about habitats and certain types of animals!!! BRAVO 👏 👏 👏
The students had a great April Fools day! 🤣
They anticipated a visit from the "Foot Doctor" all day! They spent time cleaning their feet, in between their toes, and drying them on their desks. Then apparently the doctor got stuck in traffic and was running late. When he arrived, we were at specials, and he couldn't wait. He left us some "foot long" fruit roll-ups for a treat!
HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY!!! (This was a fun prank since we are measuring in feet. Measuring with our feet, with a ruler or fruit by the foot...🤷♀️) The last picture shows a solution to the problem of having to clean our feet over and over...genius!
Award winner...
Measuring everything in inches and feet!
We always enjoy having Allis's grandmother read to us ! We are so thankful for all the volunteers from the Kiwanis Club!!! Thank you for your time and commitment Teresa Foss.
The leprechaun Shenanigans continued throughout today. We didn't catch any leprechauns this year, but we had a blast trying! Although the leprechaun was sneaky and tried to trick us, he also helped us continue learning spelling words, math facts, finding text evidence, writing procedural texts, and challenging us to unscramble words with a few short clues. He even left us a note complimenting us on how clever we are. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Thoughts on how to make a leprechaun trap...

After reading a story about Helen Keller, we went and looked for braille in the school, made our names in "braille", and then wrote about the life lesson learned from the story. Life lesson: Don't let anything hold you back. Our lives are what we make of them. There will always be obstacles, but there will ALWAYS be ways around them!

After reading, Wolf's Chicken Stew, we went searching for the 100 chicks. So far we have found 99 out of 100!
It was so nice to see all of these smiling faces today! We took some time to enjoy each other's company and discuss our winter break. They sure did miss all their friends.
A huge shout out to all who made this happen! It is amazing and greatly appreciated by the entire staff of HES!!!
