Chapter FFA President Dayton Hoffman presented about our chapter’s activities and successes during the annual Cass County Farm Bureau Dinner on July 25. Great job Dayton!

Kristin Baumgardner, FFA member from Ray-Pec High School, showed her Poultry project at the Cass County Fair on Thursday, July 14th. Kristin received 6 blue ribbons and 2 red ribbons. She also had the Reserve Champion Featherlegged Chicken. Congratulations Kristin!

Cass Career Center FFA member Dayton Hoffman attended the Missouri Pork Institute June 12-14 at the University of Missouri. During the three-day institute, students learned about modern pork production, toured a pork processing plant, and spoke to industry leaders about issues in the pork industry. At the end of the institute, Dayton scored the highest amongst all students and received a $1000 scholarship to the University of Missouri. Congratulating Dayton is Associate Dean, Bryan Garton, of the College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources at MU.

Cass Career Center FFA member Case Melzer attended the Area FFA Officer Institute June 9th and 10th at Lake of the Ozarks State Park. Case is serving as the Area FFA President for 2023-2024. During AOI, officers learn to lead workshops, develop motivational talks, introduce speakers, and work with other officers to plan conferences.

The Cass Career Center FFA Chapter was named the Bright Futures Harrisonville Student Ambassador Organization for April 2023. Bright Futures Board member Doug Meyer presented Chapter Officers Preston Baker and Ryley Wood with a certificate.


Congrats to Dayton Hoffman, CCC's junior Young Professional of the Month for May! Dayton is from Harrisonville High School and is an active member in our Agriculture and Marketing Programs as well as Cass Career Center FFA and DECA. Dayton is also a CCC Student Ambassador. Cass Career Center FFA members participated in the State High School Trapshoot at the Misssouri Trapshooting Association near Linn Creek, MO on Saturday, April 29th. Toby Johnson shot a 91 and Mikayla Myler shot a 84. Other members competing were Jackson Daniel, Austin Calvin, Lance Giesbrecht, and Tanner Chapman.


Today we are celebrating Ms. Koch! Today is Ms. Koch's last day in the classroom at CCC as a student teacher in our Ag program, and she will be missed very much! We wish Ms. Koch well in her new job and remind her that she will always be a part of our !

The Cass Career Center FFA Trap Team competed in the Cass County High School Trap Competition on Friday, April 14th. Top scores from the team were: Mikayla Myler, 1st on team, Toby Johnson, 2nd on team, Andrew Arnold, 3rd on team. Mikayla was also the Overall 2nd Place Female. The team placed 4th.

Congratulations to Case Melzer, Harrisonville High School and Izetta Person, Rich Hill R-IV School District for being selected to attend the Washington DC Youth Tour. Case and Izetta were selected as finalists in Osage Valley's Youth Tour Essay Contest and will spend a week touring monuments and museums, visiting legislators, and hearing from some great motivational speakers while meeting other Youth Tour students from across Missouri and the US.

The Cass Career Center FFA Trap Team completed at the District FFA Trapshoot on a very windy Saturday, April 1st at the Missouri Trapshooters Association in Linn Creek, MO. The team placed 5th overall and junior Toby Johnson was the 4th high individual. Congratulations. Members who competed were: Toby Johnson, Mikayla Myler, Jackson Shrout, Andrew Arnold, Austin Calvin, Jackson Daniel, Emmitt Enderle, and Tanner Chapman.

Students in Ag Science I had a guest speaker on Tuesday, March 29, Duke Neff. Mr. Neff shared his experiences in the equine industry as well as his connection with the Kansas City Chiefs. Mr. Neff shared with students how the first Warpaint horse of the Kansas City Chiefs was from Harrisonville. Students got to see Mr. Neff's Super Bowl IV ring.
