NEW CATAHOULA SUPERINTENDENT
The Catahoula Parish School Board voted tonight to hire Cari Ann Nicholson as the new Catahoula School Superintendent.
The board interviewed three candidates tonight in a three hour meeting to make their decision.

Purpose:
* Conduct interviews of applicants for superintendent
* Consider adopting voting procedures for electing superintendent
* Consider employment of superintedent
* Consider authorizing Board president and vice-president to begin contract negotiations with superintendent-elect

From the Transportation Department:

Before we begin a new school year, we would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” and “Happy Retirement” to a combined 59 years of driving experience. Two of our drivers will not be returning behind the wheel for this school year.

Mr. Donnie Arnett retires with 21 years with Catahoula Parish driving in the Sicily Island and Harrisonburg districts. Mr. Donnie will be missed by students he transported in Foules and Clayton areas.

Driving for a total of 38 school years, Mr. Mike Bennett retired for a second time after coming out of retirement to help us out during years of driver shortages during Covid and continued to drive until now in the Jonesville and Harrisonburg districts.

Thank you both for your service to the students and parents of Catahoula Parish throughout the years….you will be missed! Enjoy your retirements!!

Today was another great day at Block High School continuing our preparations for the upcoming school year! We enjoyed a cheer from Harrisonburg High School Cheerleaders who also led us in the Pledge of Allegiance! Bro. Brad Bradley, HHS Teacher led our opening prayer and Superintendent Johnnie Adams once again welcomed everyone there! State Trooper Casey Wallace gave us active shooter safety updates and considerations for future safety drills. Maria Edwards, representing Woodmen Life, presented each school and the BHS Football field with a brand new U.S. Flag! A Pulled Pork Sandwich lunch was also provided by Woodmen Life and deliciously prepared by Mr. Toney Stevenson. Our full day in-service was devoted to a new program being implemented in the schools…Leader In Me. More information about this program will be shared throughout the school year!
