🎉Celebrating a major achievement for our home visiting programs!

We are proud to share that our Page and Shenandoah County home visiting programs have been selected to receive the competitive Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) grant! 💙

This award will strengthen services for families throughout our region by supporting staff across both counties, providing essential home visiting supplies, and allowing us to hire a full-time Supervisor in Shenandoah County!

Over the past five years, MIECHV funding has helped Page County expand its services, bringing us to the highest number of participating families since before COVID-19. With this new award, we can continue building on that momentum and provide even greater support to families, particularly mothers and families with young children.

We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited about what it means for the families we serve. This investment will make a lasting difference for families across Page and Shenandoah Counties! 🌟

Today’s mission:
📱 Text one friend: “Hey, just thinking about you. How are you really doing?”
👂 Listen without trying to fix.
💬 Let them know they’re not alone.

The Campus Su***de Prevention Center of Virginia works to reduce su***de risk and build stronger support systems across college campuses in Virginia by providing free training, resources, consultation, and collaboration to campus communities. They’re part of a statewide effort to promote wellness, identify people in distress, and make sure students get connected to the right supports.
CSPCV is housed within the Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services at JMU - a hub focused on advancing a culture of health, equity, and community engagement through education, research, and innovative partnerships.
Small moments of connection save lives. Let’s look out for each other, Dukes. 💜

CAPS is honored to recognize Bev Robertson, an incredible member of our team whose 45 years of service at JMU have left a lasting mark on our training clinic community.

As an administrative support professional, Bev has been the backbone of CAPS' daily operations—ensuring everything runs smoothly while putting clients and students first. Bev's unwavering dedication to our mission has helped shape the clinic into a place where students learn, clients feel cared for, and staff feel supported.

Bev has cultivated a welcoming, positive culture that has touched generations of students, colleagues, and clients alike. Bev's impact goes far beyond day-to-day tasks—it lives in the experiences, growth, and memories of everyone she has supported over the decades.

Please join CAPS in celebrating this remarkable milestone and expressing our deepest gratitude for years of commitment, care, and community. Thank you for all you’ve given—you are truly appreciated!

Every two years IIHHS staff coordinate the administration of the Youth Data Survey to approximately half of all 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students in local schools. The survey provides key data about local youth risk behaviors and provides data which enables the community to develop priority areas around youth issues.
We are pleased to share the 2025 Youth Data Survey report from Harrisonburg City Schools and Eastern Mennonite School on our website: https://www.jmu.edu/iihhs/youthdata.shtml
