Virginia Cooperative Extension - Rockingham The Rockingham County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension is your local connection to Virginia' Department of Agriculture, and local governments.

Our program areas include Agriculture & Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, and 4-H Youth Development. We have staff employed by the Family Nutrition Program (food stamp education). We serve our entire community with a variety of educational programs that are designed to help individuals and families in a variety of topics. We are present in schools, on farms, and in the community wit

h our programming efforts. Staff in our office work with the Master Gardeners, 4-H youth, and volunteers; as well as community members. Exciting news! Registration for our 2026 Women in Agriculture Gathering is now open! WAG will be held on April 23rd and 24th in the Shenandoah Valley. This year, we will be focusing on Agritourism on Day 1 and then on Day 2 you will choose one of three tours to go on.

Using a well, spring, or cistern for your drinking water? Take charge of your water quality! Virginia Cooperative Extension offers affordable water testing clinics across the state through the Virginia Household Water Quality Program.

$70/sample kit (subsidized kits may be available)
Tests for: Coliform bacteria, E. coli, lead, copper, arsenic, hardness, pH, nitrate, sulfate, fluoride, and more!

Kit Pick-Up: February 18-20, 2026, 8AM-5PM Rockingham County Extension Office
