🚒 CONGRATULATIONS! 🚒 to Hayden for earning “Student of the Month” at MTC! Well deserved! Keep up the great work!

Students looked at the anatomy of a deer heart (complement’s of Megan who saved it from her deer that she shot). Learning about the chambers, vessels, and valves.

Students had one last Hazmat Ops activity to practice using their ERG books before they tested for certification this past Monday . We are Waiting on the results of their written exam now. That all passed their Skills stations on their first attempt.

🚑 EMT Students had some great hands-on training learning about bleeding control and trauma injuries.

A Joint “Communication” Exercise
🚔🚒🚑 with both Criminal Justice and Fire/Recue Students. One student was given a set of Legos that were already put together in a cluster, and the other student was given the exact same Lego pieces that were not put together. They sat back-to-back. The student with the Legos already constructed had to describe to the other student how to put their pieces together to look exactly the same.  they learned the importance of being descriptive and not assuming that the other person knows what you are thinking. They also learned the importance of knowing direction such as north, south, east and west, as well as division or levels. 

Great day at the Harrisonburg fire museum for both first year student classes. This is part of our Firefighter 1 curriculum , learning about fire service history. Thanks to Erin for a great tour.

Thank you to HRECC Harrisonburg/Rockingham Emergency Communication Center for giving our EMT students a great lesson on communications and all the resources HRECC provides as well as a tour of the facility. Great instructors, great instructions and great information.

Thank you to Josh from Rockingham Petroleum for talking our students about how to handle possible LP truck related emergencies. This is part of their hazardous materials training.
