JMU Adult Degree Program At JMU, we recognize that traditional 4-year bachelor’s programs don’t always accommodate the educational needs or lifestyles of adults. What sets JMU apart?

Physical, cultural, family, or job-related limitations can make returning to college difficult for even the most motivated or qualified adult students. At JMU we designed ADP specifically for these students. The program’s format makes it possible for adults to finish their degree without compromising their other obligations. Its customizability means that busy adults can earn a degree that’s tailo

red to their career goals. Busy adults can balance their coursework with the rest of their lives by taking one course at a time, or more to finish faster. Students collaborate with an Academic Advisor to create an individualized program that aligns with their career interests. This program contains a 30-credit core concentration and general education requirements that are more flexible than in traditional programs. Several alternative pathways to credit hours also exist, including portfolios of Prior Learning Assessment. Students earn either a Bachelor of Arts in Individualized Studies, Bachelor of Science in Individualized Studies, or a Bachelor of Individualized Studies. Interested in the Adult Degree Program?
