James Madison University is competing in the 2020 Collegiate Wind Competition, hosted by the Department of Energy.
The event will take place from June 1-4, 2020 in Denver, Colorado, and will be held in conjunction with the AWEA WINDPOWER 2020 Conference.

Students on the Siting and Business sub-team of the JMU Collegiate Wind Competition team are hard at work. These students are examining several different sites and business models within the state of Colorado for potential as a wind farm site. They have done deep background research and are creating pro forma statements for each.

The JMU team competing in the Collegiate Wind Competition got the amazing chance to visit Mr. Roger Beale. Mr. Beale is a retired engineer who has constructed a scale wind tunnel in his backyard! Our team has acquired this tunnel and we are looking forward to using it to test and verify our turbine prototype!
