Unannounced Licensing Inspection -
Good afternoon, families!
We received an unannounced visit from our licensing inspector today for our biannual health and safety inspection. During the inspection, the inspector reviewed staff and child records, center and playground safety, food safety and meal preparation, labeling and medications, internal policies, ratios, curriculum, diapering and toileting procedures, teacher and child interactions, fire, emergency shelter, and lockdown drills, emergency response plans, first aid kits, emergency action plans, allergy action plans, and the regulations and documentation related to our status as an approved subsidy vendor, including applicable enrollment, attendance, eligibility, billing, and recordkeeping requirements.
We are very pleased to share that we received passing marks in all areas, with only two minor items needing to be corrected.
Three staff members, including myself 🤦♀️, have TB screenings that are expired, and one medication label was expired and needs to be updated. We will be scheduling the necessary TB screenings immediately and updating the medication label.
For anyone who may have questions or concerns regarding the TB screenings, please know that each of the expired screenings was less than three months past its renewal date. All three of us have consistently completed TB screenings every two years for approximately the past 10 years. We have no reason to believe there is a TB risk; this is simply an administrative item that needs to be brought up to date.
