This weekend I was able to join Jamie in Minneapolis for her final Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority Convention as National President. This is the culmination of 27 years of service to her beloved sorority and I couldn’t be prouder of her and what she has accomplished. Jamie is the epitome of leadership and grace and the way she weathered the storms and challenges of the last six years and elevated AST to another level is nothing short of astounding. I have the privilege of seeing what no one else does from the front row and sometimes backstage. The concerns, the thoughtfulness, the care for others, the innovation, and the willingness to do whatever it takes for AST to succeed is impossible to explain. I am not sure what the next chapter will bring but I can’t wait to have a seat in the front row! I love you and I am so proud of you for who you are, what you do, and the lives that are made better because of you every day! Go Dukes!!

Bring your energy and own your purpose every day! Here are the ten rules from the Energy Bus written by Jon Gordon. 🚍 1 You’re the Driver of the Bus — Take complete responsibility for your life and your choices. 🚎 2 Desire, Vision, and Focus move your bus in the right direction — Clearly define where you want to go. 🚍3 Fuel your Ride with Positive Energy — Cultivate a positive mindset to power through daily challenges. 🚌 4 Invite People on Your Bus and Share your Vision for the Road Ahead — Rally others to join your journey. 🚐 5 Don’t Waste Your Energy on those who don’t get on your Bus — Do not stress over the people who refuse to buy into your goals. 🚎 6 Post a Sign that says “No Energy Vampires Allowed” on your Bus — Eliminate and filter out chronic negativity from your environment. 🚐7 Enthusiasm attracts more Passengers and Energizes them during the Ride — Passion and excitement are highly contagious. 🚍 8 Love your Passengers — Care genuinely for your team members to bring out their absolute best. 🚌 9 Drive with Purpose — Anchor your daily work to a deeper, meaningful mission. 🚎10 Have Fun and Enjoy the Ride — Remember that life is a journey, not just a final destination

You can go home again! As I start my 9th year I wanted to say hello from campus and debunk the saying that you can’t go home again! I came back to JMU after 18 years away and have loved being part of this community again. Remember that you are always welcome back home here at JMU and I hope all of you are having a great summer! See some of you again in a few months and four graduates, congratulations again and good luck in this next chapter of your life! Go Dukes!
