Move-In and Weeks of Welcome start this Friday! We’re excited for the educational and social programs designed to help you connect with fellow new students, JMU, and the Harrisonburg community.

It’s also a great time to score free swag! We’ll be handing out JMU and WOW t-shirts throughout Weeks of Welcome. The more events you attend, the more chances you’ll have to grab a shirt!

Lights of Madison is JMU’s official welcome, streaming from the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The event will take place this Sunday, August 23 at 4 P.M.

All incoming first-year students are required to attend in person. Current JMU students, staff, families, and supporters are invited to watch the livestream. View the livestream here, https://brnw.ch/21x53BD

This event introduces new students to JMU’s people, values, traditions, and opportunities, with messages from faculty, staff, and fellow Dukes. It kicks off the Madison Experience and invites students to "Be the Light" by leading with purpose, building a welcoming community, and making a positive impact.

Today, our office was recognized and awarded the President's Purple Star Award for Leading Together. The Leading Together Award recognizes those who lead purposefully, intentionally, and with integrity to enact needed long-term change with guidance and voices of all constituents. We are honored to receive this award and to continue to work hard for our students during their transition!
