After more than 23 years at EMU, including getting his masters from CJP (then the Conflict Transformation Program) in 2001 and directing SPI for the last nine years, Bill’s last day at EMU is June 30.

He has been a steady presence and likely interacted with more individual CJP/SPI students than any other CJP faculty or staff since the program began! It is hard to imagine SPI without him.
In honor of Bill and his many years of contributions to CJP, we invite you to make a gift (https://app.mobilecause.com/form/GXttIQ?vid=sjbz5) to the Summer Peacebuilding Institute. Your gift will support scholarships for students with financial need to attend future SPI courses.

If you prefer to give via check or other method, please contact Lindsay Martin ([email protected]) so she can help facilitate your gift. Thank you so much for honoring Bill for his meaningful contributions to SPI and CJP.

It is the end of an era at CJP as we prepare to say goodbye to Jayne Docherty. Jayne joined CJP in 2001 as professor of conflict transformation – just days before the tragic events of September 11. After many years on faculty, teaching a wide range of courses from ‘Negotiation’ to ‘Conflict Coaching,’ Jayne became Academic Director for the CJP graduate programs in 2013, and then executive director in 2019. Her passion for justice, her expansive vision for what is possible, and her love for her students and colleagues have held steady over her 21 years at CJP.

Jayne’s last day at CJP is June 30, 2022 though we hope she returns to teach a course from time to time!
In honor of Jayne and her legacy at CJP, we invite you to make a gift to the Emily Grace Shenk Endowment for CJP at app.mobilecause.com/form/KbhJWA?vid=sc930. This endowment fund provides annual support for CJP operations, giving us the ability to innovate and be nimble in times of great change. As Jayne continues to have big visions for CJP and its impact in the world, your gifts in her honor will enable CJP to continue to innovate, grow, and seize opportunities as they arise.
