Infrastructure Innovation 1029 is up and running for summer 2018!

Madison Gilmore, Engineering student (jr.) at JMU, and Rene Schleich, Mechanical Engineering Masters student from the University of Applied Sciences in Saarbrucken, Germany (htw saar) are tearing it up this summer! Looking forward to big things and lots of concrete from them!

Enthusiastic and lively students working with hot steel samples at 955 degrees Celsius!

JMU juniors ENGR 314 Engineering Materials Lab are learning about heat treatment processing of steel and the effect on structure and thus properties.

We take safety very seriously and therefore this is hands-off learning (literally!) and not hands-on learning.

Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) is critical to the engineering design process. Failure to design for failure modes is creating opportunities for us at JMU Engineering!

Processing - Properties - Structure. In materials science and engineering if you change one, you change them all.

Dr. Rob Prins and I are building capacity in metallography and heat treatments of steels for the purpose of enriching student learning both in and out of the classroom. We have three students applying to present at the 2018 National Council on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).

ASCE's 2017 Infrastructure Report Card | GPA: D+ 10/25/2017

The American energy infrastructure earned a grade of D+ according to the American Society of Civil Engineers 2017 infrastructure report card. This is why the ACP report is relevant!
