We are excited to share this accomplishment and what it means for the future of food recovery on our campus and in our community!

This three-year initiative will expand food recovery efforts, engage more student volunteers, and increase access to recovered meals alongside partners like Food Recovery Network and the Salvation Army of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

JMU was awarded $243,387 from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to decrease the amount of food being sent to landfill and support local food systems.
