Windsor Melodies Windsor Melodies provides violin lessons across the Shenandoah valley! Home visits are possible! Viola and beginner piano lessons are also available.

I love what I do. I have taught multiple ages ranging from 3 year olds to people in their upper 40's, I am a certified Suzuki instructor, I have taught through Mark O'Connor's fiddle methods. I have taugh

t advanced students performance pieces such as Passacalgia, Mozart Violin Concertos, Solo Bach Repertoire, and more! I have performed extensively- Recitals with advanced repertoire such as Paganini Caprices, Solo Bach, and violin concertos. I love performing as a seated member with the Roanoke Symphony. With them, I have performed in various pop concerts (Broadway, Frank Sinatra, The WHO) and classical masterworks (Beethoven 9th Symphony, Mendelssohn Italian Symphony, Brahms 2nd Symphony)

As I mentioned before, I love what I do, I love the students I teach, and I love the people I work with.

As we are approaching the 26/27 school year, an updated bio has been posted below:
Zachary Windsor is the proud owner and operator of Windsor Melodies. He has served the Shenandoah Valley as a strings teacher through a variety of settings. He has taught through several methods including the Suzuki method, Mark O'Connor fiddle method, Barbara Barber collections, Kreutzer etude, concertos, and several symphonic repertoire! His main specialty is violin but he also teaches viola and piano. Zach also teaches in a variety of settings through his home studio, at Shenandoah Valley Academy, Red Wing Academy, public school, university (currently as adjunct professor at Bridgewater College), and the Suzuki institute.
As a performer, Zachary is a contracted player with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra. In the fall of 2026, he will also serve as acting concertmaster for the Waynesboro Symphony. Additionally, he is a string player on an as-needed basis for a variety of other organizations such as the Virginia Consort, Melodious Strings, UVA Singers, Shenandoah Valley Choral Society, Roanoke Opera, Charlottesville Symphony, and more!

I haven’t been posting as much but this 2025-26 school year has provided wonderful opportunities. Posted below are snippets from the Windsor Melodies faculty recital and student recital.

Listed important accomplishments in no particular order (some accomplishments listed are not featured as Windsor Melodies, but rather as Zach Windsor who is the owner/operator of said business) -
Acting principal second violinist for the Roanoke Symphony during the Masterworks V concert 6th year as adjunct violin/viola professor at Bridgewater college 3rd year teaching students privately at Shenandoah Valley Academy My eldest child is wrapping up “theme from witches dance” in Suzuki book 2 and my middle child is learning Minuet no. 1 from Suzuki book 1 Concertmaster for Blacksburg Master Chorale orchestra; we performed Handels Messiah I taught fiddle during the inaugural opening season of Rocktown House of Music (not as Windsor Melodies, but as Zachary Windsor… lol) Taught Bruch Violin Concerto to advanced students (first year doing this!) 9th year teaching at the Red Wing Academy; both my eldest kids were in attendance; featured performance of original composition “Remembering Norah.”
