This spring semester, JMU School of Music professor Masa Ishikawa released a new album, titled "Migration." Each piece is inspired by a specific type of living creature, such as sandhill cranes, Japanese evening cicadas, fireflies, and northern cardinals. The album also features current and former JMU faculty and students, showcasing the creative community that continues to grow through JMU Arts. 💜💛

CVPA JMU School of Art, Design and Art History Graphic Design Major, junior Kaitlyn Carney, was named Most Outstanding Player in the American Athletic Conference’s Women’s Lacrosse 2026 Championship game, where JMU took home the trophy, defeating the top-seeded South Florida Bulls 17-7 in the final on Saturday, May 2! The team leaves today to play Notre Dame in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Congratulations to Kaitlyn and to all of her JMU women’s lax teammates! Go Dukes!
