A look back at NEW DANCE FESTIVAL: OFF-SITE & REWIRED — an evening where dance moved beyond the traditional stage and into a world of projection, sound, technology, virtual reality, and immersive performance.
Through the collaboration of dance faculty Tara Lee Burns, Adele Myers and Dancers, and Cecilia Benitez, audiences were invited to move through the JMU Office of Creative Propulsion, walk amongst the performers, experience dance up close, and engage with the space in entirely new ways.
The event featured excerpts from Adele Myers and Dancers’ a world gone Fabulous alongside JMU dancers performing Traces, a new work by AMD company member and emerging choreographer Cecilia Benitez.
