What if one conversation could help shape a student's future?

Join us for Rosé & Résumés, where JMU alumni have the opportunity to help students build confidence, strengthen networking skills and prepare for life after graduation. Students will receive résumé feedback and professional headshots before connecting with alumni in a relaxed networking environment.

You don't need to have all the answers. Just bring your experience, your perspective and a willingness to be the Duke you needed when you were in their shoes.

Attendees are also encouraged to support the JMU Career Closet with donations of new or gently used professional attire.

For students and parents alike, the transition to college marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunity and discovery.

Few people understand that journey better than Dave (’91) and Marcy (’91) Kozlowski, co-chairs of the JMU Parents Council. The couple met as students during their first year on campus at JMU. Their youngest daughter is entering her senior year at JMU, and their other two daughters graduated in 2018 and 2021.

Today, they help lead a council of approximately 200 parents who support the university by providing insight from a family perspective and helping strengthen connections between JMU and families.

As another academic year begins, they shared advice for current and prospective JMU parents.

What does the Shenandoah River sound like? 🎶🌊

A group of JMU School of Music students set out to find out, traveling from Port Republic to Harpers Ferry to capture the sounds of one of the Valley’s most treasured landmarks. Their recordings now bring Carrier Library’s Steps of the Shenandoah to life through an immersive sound installation that connects campus to the region we call home.

When communities lose access to safe drinking water after a disaster, innovative solutions can make all the difference.

Inspired by recent natural disasters, JMU Integrated Science and Technology student Landon Pumo ('26) developed a portable, solar-powered water purification system designed to help families access clean drinking water while communities recover and infrastructure is restored. His capstone project highlights the power of hands-on learning and problem-solving at JMU.
