Today is World Day for Safety and Health at Work, a day dedicated to promoting safe and healthy workplaces around the world. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of workplace safety and the need to prioritize the health and well-being of all workers.
Every year, millions of people suffer from workplace injuries and illnesses, and many of these incidents are preventable. By creating safe and healthy work environments, we can not only protect the physical and mental health of our employees, but also improve productivity, morale, and job satisfaction.

Public administration, as a distinct field of study and practice, emerged in the United States in the early 20th century, although its roots can be traced back to the earliest civilizations. The ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, and India all developed sophisticated systems of governance and public management, which included elements of what we now call public administration. For example, ancient Egyptian pharaohs appointed officials to oversee the construction of public works projects like temples and pyramids, and ancient Chinese emperors established a complex system of bureaucracy to manage their vast empire. While these early societies did not have a formal concept of public administration, many of the principles and practices they developed continue to influence the field today.
