What looks like play to you… is learning to us.

🌿 Today’s lesson: OUTDOOR PLAY! 🌿

When our little Owlets run, climb, dig, explore, collect, and investigate outside, they’re doing so much more than “just playing.”

They’re building:
💪 Strength & coordination
🧠 Problem-solving skills
👣 Balance & body awareness
🌱 Curiosity & early science skills
🤝 Social skills & cooperation
❤️ Confidence & independence

A stick becomes a discovery.
A hill becomes a challenge.
A puddle becomes a science experiment.
And a simple walk outside becomes an opportunity to learn something new.

At Little Owlets, we believe learning doesn’t always happen sitting at a table.

Sometimes the very best classroom is right outside our door. 🌿🦉

🦉💛 IT’S A GREAT DAY TO BE A LITTLE OWLET! 💛🦉

There’s something pretty special about watching our Little Owlets explore, move, imagine, and discover their world together.

Today we’re getting in lots of:

🌿 Fresh air & time in nature
🧗‍♀️ Climbing, balancing & building confidence
🏃‍♂️ Running, moving & strengthening those growing bodies
🧠 Problem-solving & learning how things work
🎭 Imaginative play & creativity
🤝 Social skills — sharing, taking turns & playing alongside friends
👀 Exploring our surroundings and noticing new things
💪 Independence & trying new things on their own
❤️ And, of course… LOTS of smiles, giggles and fun!

Every day at Little Owlets brings something new to discover. And honestly…

It’s a pretty great day to be a Little Owlet. 🥰🦉💛

"Be Rec" is more than just childcare. Our school year enrichment program is designed to give children a place to learn, play, create, explore, move their bodies and simply enjoy being kids. Each day brings something new, from outdoor adventures and active games to arts & crafts, STEM challenges, theater, team-building activities, sports, cooking, nature exploration, special guests, and community adventures.

At Be Rec, we believe childhood should be filled with imagination, movement, friendships, and opportunities to discover new interests. Our caring staff create a welcoming environment where every child is encouraged to try something new, build confidence, develop life skills, and have fun!

If your child loves to build, create, perform, explore, play, move or simply spend time with friends, there's a place for them at Be Rec.

When u come to Little Owlets u will be warned!
We play and we get dirty!!!!
Let them be kids is one of our favorites to live by!
We believe in play = Happiness!
Outside we are wild and I would never want it any other way!!! ❤️🦉

This is how you know your kid had a good day:

Dirty feet.

Grass stains on their knees.

Food on their face.

Dirt under their fingernails.

A little messy hair and a whole lot of evidence that they spent the day playing, exploring, getting dirty, and just being a kid.

I’ll take a messy, happy child over a perfectly clean one who spent the whole day being told not to touch, not to run, and not to make a mess.

Let them get dirty.

That’s what childhood is for.

Welcome to our very first Behind the Play! 🌿🧸

Every day at Little Owlets, our little ones are learning through the things that may look simple, silly, or even just like “playing.”

But behind those little moments are BIG developmental skills. 🥰

👣 Running, climbing & exploring → building strength, balance & confidence

🧩 Playing with toys → problem-solving & learning how things work

🗣️ Talking, pointing & making sounds → building communication skills

🤝 Sharing & taking turns → learning social skills

🌱 Exploring outside → discovering nature, science & the world around them

💭 Waiting, trying again & figuring things out → building patience, independence & persistence

So the next time you see a toddler pouring, climbing, digging, carrying, touching, repeating something 20 times, or simply making a BIG mess…

Remember… they’re not “just playing.” 😉

They’re growing.
They’re discovering.
They’re practicing.
They’re learning.
They’re becoming. 💛

Today we celebrate ONE INCREDIBLE YEAR of being state licensed! 🎉💗

My heart is truly BEYOND GRATEFUL for every family who has trusted Little Owlets with their little ones. Your support, encouragement, love, and trust have made this first year absolutely amazing. 🥹❤️

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your children’s lives and for helping make Little Owlets the special little place it is.
