Important Update Regarding School Bus Capacity

Good morning, parents and guardians!

To ensure all of our regular riders have a safe and comfortable seat, a few of our bus routes are currently at maximum capacity. Because of high ridership, the following buses will NOT be able to accommodate guest riders (students going home with a friend) until further notice:

Bus 8

Bus 82

Bus 73

Bus 77

Bus 97

Bus 94

Only students who live directly on these specific routes will be permitted to ride them. If your child plans to visit a friend after school who takes one of these buses, please arrange an alternative form of transportation.

Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation as we keep our students safe on their daily commute!

πŸ”¬πŸ§« Learning Cell Theory in 6th Grade Science! πŸ§«πŸ”¬

Mr. Ditmanson’s 6th Grade Science students are diving into Cell Theory and discovering how the development of the microscope helped scientists unlock the microscopic world around us!

Students rotated through stations featuring scientists such as Theodor Schwann and Matthias Schleiden, learning how their observations and discoveries helped shape our understanding that all living things are made of cells. They also explored the role of early microscopes and how scientists’ observations of plants and animals contributed to the development of Cell Theory.

Our young scientists had a great time getting hands-on with microscopes and seeing just how much there is to discover when you look a little closer! πŸ”¬πŸ§ͺ

πŸ§ͺπŸ’₯ Science in Action at HMS! πŸ’₯πŸ§ͺ

Mrs. Bryant’s science classes had a blast during our β€œWhy Do Some Things Explode?” lab! Students mixed baking soda and vinegar and observed a chemical reaction taking place. As the reaction produced gas, pressure built up inside the bag until… POP! πŸ’₯

It was a fun, hands-on way to see science in action and learn how chemical reactions can produce gases and pressure!
