Congratulations to Prof. Michael Dimino on the publication of the fourth edition of Voting Rights and Election Law: Cases, Explanatory Notes, and Problems, co-authored with Bradley A. Smith and Michael E. Solimine and published by Carolina Academic Press!

This casebook covers the full scope of election law, from the right to vote to vote tabulation, including gerrymandering, the Voting Rights Act, campaign finance, and election administration. The new edition is freshly updated with key Supreme Court cases on race, redistricting, and the Voting Rights Act.

This latest edition is a great resource for anyone studying or practicing in this important area of the law. Well done, Prof. Dimino!

Meet Jericha Brock, rising third-year student and Center for Equity and Justice Fellow.

Jericha came to Widener Law Commonwealth determined to use the law to help strengthen communities and expand access to justice. Through the Center for Equity and Justice, she’s researching community policing initiatives and equity-centered programs designed to build trust between institutions and the people they serve.

As part of the Enhanced Community Policing Project, Jericha traveled to the Arkansas Delta to see how the team’s research was being implemented in real time alongside community partners and law enforcement agencies.

Big things from our own Prof. Amanda Sholtis! On May 29, she presented "Medium Matters in Law Practice: Teaching Critical e-Reading" at the Capital Area Legal Writing Conference at the University of Baltimore School of Law (Official).

Her talk tackled why developing students' critical e-reading skills is more important than ever, especially with the paperless NextGen bar exam launching for the first time this July. She even walked fellow professors through a classroom exercise they can use right away.

From Chandigarh, India, to high-stakes litigation in courtrooms across Pennsylvania, Inder Deep Paul ’16 built a career fueled by grit, adaptability, and the relationships that helped shape his path.

Now a partner at Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby, Paul handles complex commercial transportation litigation and says the biggest lesson he’s learned is simple: “Be a good person. It matters more than anything else.”

His story is a reminder that success in law school and beyond isn’t just about grades. It’s about resilience, connection, and showing up for the people around you.
