Don't let someone else's study habits get in your head.

In this clip from Late Night in the Library, episode "What I Wish I Knew as a 1L," Owen reminds incoming law students that there's no one-size-fits-all approach to studying. Just because someone says they're studying longer doesn't mean they're studying smarter.

Some lawyers thrive on routine. Jeremy Montgomery ’07 thrives on the pace.

As a deputy attorney general with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Jeremy handles complex litigation across 27 counties, balancing courtroom advocacy, legal writing, and the fast-moving demands of public service.

“I like being busy,” he said. “I like having that pace. It keeps you sharp. It keeps you engaged.”

From moot court and trial advocacy at Widener Law Commonwealth to nearly two decades representing state agencies in court, Jeremy’s story is a reminder that the best preparation for practice happens through hands-on experience.
