I saved this image a long time ago and today I saw it again, I identified so much with what I am living and with what I feel and I wanted to rewrite what this image represents.
Yes, it's true, we prepare so much for the day of delivery and I think delivery is the easiest part, everyone's focus and attention is on you, you took a psychoprophylactic course, breathing exercises, the ball to reduce the pain of contractions, your gynecologist is ready, the doula accompanying you at all times, your husband taking care of every detail, the family on the lookout...
But there comes that moment that I call "the real first meeting" only you know when that moment passes, it is a second where your baby and you are alone, maybe in the middle of the morning, in the diaper change or when you are watching their little hands and those big eyes or listening to their little noises and nothing else, just you two, then you feel a hole in your belly; a mixture of happiness with a lot of fear and responsibility for what you have in front of you.
Your postpartum starts there, there is no preparation to receive it because not even those who live it can explain what they feel but it is important that you know:
✨That everything is temporary
✨That you can rely on other moms
✨That if you got here, you can do it, you can and we can all
✨That there are breastfeeding counselors and also pediatricians prolactance
✨Be noble to you, treat yourself with love
✨There is a hormonal imbalance inside you and you don't need to fight against it, everything will be regulated little by little
How was or is your postpartum being?
