DID YOU KNOW?

Hair only grows about ½ an inch per month on average.

So when you cut off 6 inches of hair, you could be cutting off around an entire YEAR of growth.

Think about everything those 6 inches have been through in a year… old color, heat styling, sunshine, hard water, brushing, ponytails, products and everyday wear and tear.

Sometimes we get so focused on keeping our hair LONG and get so attached to length that we hold onto hair that isn’t doing us any favors anymore. It’s easy to forget how good it can feel to let go of the oldest, most tired part of it.

Cutting a few inches doesn’t always mean “going short.”
Sometimes it means fuller ends, better movement, prettier color and hair that actually feels healthy again.

Moral of the story: maybe your hair doesn’t need saving…

maybe it just needs REFRESHED. 😉

If you’re new around here, I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

I’m Seana. I’m a mom, a hairstylist, a spray tan artist, a makeup artist, I also offer sugar waxing hair removal, and I specialize in bridal parties.

But more than anything, I’ve always had a servant’s heart.

I genuinely love being able to use what I have, whether that’s my business, my time, my creativity, or simply showing up, to do something good for someone else.

I don’t ever want my business to be just about booking appointments and making money. I want it to be something that brings people together, supports local kids, helps other small businesses, gives back when I can, and makes our little corner of the world a little better.

Last night, you could find me at the football game making loaded teas, selling raffle tickets, passing out bracelets to kids, and just being part of my community. And honestly, I loved every minute of it and I hope I can do things like this again in the future!

A big focus for me right now is growing my business so that I have more opportunities and more resources to pour back into the community. The more I’m able to grow, the more I’m able to give, support, sponsor, donate, and show up for the things that matter.

I’ve always believed that when you have the ability to help, you should.

I’m located right here in Thayer at The Beauty Shop, where I offer hair, spray tans, makeup, and more.

So if you’re new here, welcome. I’m really glad you’re here. And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for continuing to support me, my business, and all the little things I care so much about.

And truly, every appointment, recommendation, comment, like, and share means more than you probably realize. I appreciate every single person who takes the time to share my posts and help my little business grow. That support is what allows me to continue creating opportunities to give back.

So thank you for believing in this girl, for allowing me to dream a little bigger, and for playing a part in what comes next. I hope you’ll stick around, because I’m just getting started. 💛

Congratulations to Tonya Woods for winning the Bobcat Get Ready YETI!

And because of everyone who bought a ticket, shared the post, stopped by, grabbed a tea or supported this in any way, $910 was raised for the Thayer cheerleaders!!!!

I’ve been looking forward to tonight for what feels like fOrEvEr! I put a lot of time, energy and my own money into making it happen because I wanted to do something fun, something different and most importantly, something that poured back into this community.

There are so many great families and people in this community who already do so much to pour back into it, and I really love that about Thayer. You see people showing up for their kids, supporting local businesses, donating, volunteering, sponsoring and finding ways to help.

I believe showing support and being involved is how the kind of community we want to live in is created. It doesn’t always have to be something huge. Sometimes it’s simply deciding to do something because you know it might make someone else’s day a little better or give someone a little extra support.

And I hope tonight was that.

I hope the cheerleaders feel proud of what they were able to raise. I hope everyone who participated had fun. I hope the kids enjoyed the bracelets and the whole experience. And I hope everyone who came by tonight felt a little bit of that community spirit.

Because I really do believe there is a bigger reward in giving back than there is in only taking.

This is exactly the kind of thing I love doing, and I would genuinely love to continue finding ways to create things like this, support our kids, support local businesses and pour back into the community.

That’s a big part of what I want Refresh by Seana Skylar to be. Not just a business, but something that brings a little more to the table and gives me an opportunity to use what I have to do something good.

And I absolutely cannot end this without thanking the businesses and individuals who donated to the YETI and helped make it what it was.

Tonight was a really good reminder of what can happen when people are willing to show up for each other.
