Learning from a senior guru like Dr. Anita Vallabh is a rare, cherished experience for our students each year, offering them direct access to an extraordinary artistic lineage. Experiences like these deepen their training, broaden their perspective, and connect them to the living tradition of Bharatanatyam beyond the classroom. We are honoured to facilitate such meaningful encounters that inspire the next generation of dancers to carry the torch forward.

As FIFA comes to a close, we’re reflecting on how special it was for Shree Academy to present our soccer-inspired Bharatanatyam fusion performance.

We were honored to be invited by the One World Festival to perform at Lancaster City’s Soccer Block Party on June 12th. Inspired by the FIFA World Cup game the U.S. played that day, and paying homage to local soccer star Christian Pulisic, we set out to bridge the gap between classical dance and the beautiful game.

Blending the intricate footwork of Bharatanatyam with the movement of football allowed us to create a piece full of rhythm, footwork, and team spirit.

Late post, but this was too special not to share ❤️

We had the opportunity to perform at Linglestown Middle School on May 18 for their multicultural day and it was such a beautiful reminder of why events like this matter.

for students from so many backgrounds, having a space where they can celebrate who they are – without shrinking, hiding or feeling judged - is powerful!

We were grateful to be part of the day that brought students together through culture movement and share joy.

And of course, real performance day moments included one broken shoe sole, one churro, one slice of pizza, and a lot of laughter.

Thank you to Linglestown Middle School, the principal Mr. Porter and the wonderful team who invited us to be part of such a meaningful celebration of community.

Recently, I had the privilege of working with the students at Infinity Charter School for the second time, sharing and teaching Bharatanatyam as part of their Multicultural Day.

I always leave these experiences feeling inspired. The students’ curiosity, enthusiasm, and willingness to engage never cease to amaze me, and the support of the school community makes these moments even more meaningful.

I’m so grateful to play a small part in helping students learn about—and celebrate—the beautiful cultures and traditions that shape who we are. Experiences like these remind us that understanding one another doesn’t divide us; it brings us closer together. ❤️

Come see Shree Academy of Arts perform Friday, June 12 at Ewell Plaza & Binns Park in Downtown Lancaster!

Rain or shine. We’ll see you there!

Our students presented a 30 minute Bharatanatyam program at SVV temple’s Navarasam celebration.

For years, I have shared the stage with many of these dancers. On May 17th I got to watch them carry the program themselves - with confidence, focus, and ownership.

Moments like these remind me that dance is about so much more than steps. It is about watching students grow into capable, expressive young artists.

Very proud of this group and grateful to SVV temple for the opportunity to share this art form with the community. ❤️
