The Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission was statutorily created by Act 120 of 1974 (Title 53, Ch. 21, Subch. D) and charged with establishing the Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Program in response to a federal study urging improved standards and goals in police training.
