IIM Registration for 2021-22 Now Open!!

We are so excited to reopen the Immersed in Music program this Fall! We are starting to roll out a comprehensive music curriculum that includes the 10-month band experience, as well as a wide array of music and sound engineering classes. All our options are designed to enable students to have fun while finding their place in the music world.

Our 10-Month 2021-22 options will include a choice of:
Rock Band Experience
Sound Engineering Program
Bucket Drumming

The additional classes include an exciting variety: music business; stage production; sound engineering including introductory, live, and studio options; individual and group songwriting; counting; and music theory. These classes will be offered in smaller time frames in order to accommodate busy schedules. We will also continue to offer individual instrument instruction in guitar, bass, vocals, piano, and drums.

Students who choose to sign up for a Rock Band Experience, Sound Engineering Program, or Bucket Drumming will be able take advantage of any of the class offerings at a 20% discount.

Our individual instrument instruction operates year round and is billed at $60/month for guitar and bass, $90/month for piano, and $100/month for drums and vocals.

We plan to begin the year on Monday, September 13 and operate every Monday until mid June (except December 27, and January 3). Classes will begin on September 27. We will book bands in time slots from 4 - 6 pm and 6:30 - 8:30 pm, with classes being offered in one-hour time slots between 5 pm and 8 pm. Class options will rotate throughout the school year.

This year we will follow all federal, state, and local COVID-19 safety protocols. At this time, we can say that we will be starting with Rockers, Bucket Drumming, and Sound Engineering students on September 13. We are constantly reviewing our ability to safely operate Young Rockers and Advanced Young Rockers programs. As soon as we are sure that we can provide the same level of safety to those students as we can the Rocker students, we will open enrollment for those options.

Finishing Touches on September Schedule

We are all hard at work sorting through the many details involved with reopening our Fall programs after a 16-month pause!

We’re checking equipment that has been in storage since we shut down, and getting ready to reach out to families with all the details for the coming year. Camps have begun this week with Wade’s Bucket Drumming and everyone is having a great time!

We are really excited to be able to put into place many of the new ideas the staff has generated over these many months. To that end, the schedule for the band and class options is being finalized, production is underway on our brand new weekly IIM podcasts that are set to kick off, and we’re now generating some additional content for the IIM community.

SO. . . Are you ready to rock, IIM students?? Tell your friends and fellow musicians to join us. The fun is just around the corner!

More Classes, More Options, Still Bands

Our staff had a great meeting again this week. We are continuing to fine tune what we will be offering and the options students will have beginning in September, all while continuing our regular band programs.

Our additional classes range from music business to live stage production to sound engineering to musician enrichment opportunities. We are currently reviewing our pricing and are working to make the additional class options very affordable for all enrolled IIM students.

Classes have been reviewed and some have been revamped and broken into shorter, more focused durations. If taken back to back, they will equate or expand on what has already been offered in the past. Most of these will be available several times during the course of the year This should give students the chance to fit the ones in which they are most interested into their own busy schedules.

More specifics about all the new and revised options, along with pricing options, will be coming soon.

IIM Returns: In With the New, but Keeping the Old

During the Pandemic, we took advantage of the down time to keep the staff working together on ways to develop a more comprehensive music program for our students. Don't worry though, the parts that you know and love will still be here!!

These additional opportunities will include extra classes, seminars, weekend workshops, and much more. The idea is to offer students a chance to take advantage of the many different ways to succeed in music beyond playing in a band.

These options are designed to enable our students to find their place in the world of music, whether they want to make a career in the field, or just challenge themselves to expand their knowledge and discover other music related areas they can explore.

However, if you are someone who just wants to get together with your friends, play in a band, have some fun, and rock out, that choice is still available, too!

In addition to all that, we've also been looking at criteria for placement and, as a staff, have defined paths that will help each person to attain their goals more efficiently so they can reach their next level as a musician.
