To fix the problem of misinformation and misrepresentation, and fill the gap of the lack thereof. Today if a criminal defendant does not have thousands of dollars put away to pay for defense counsel, there is an extremely good chance that they will be convicted and put away in a county, state, or federal institution whether they are guilty of the charged crime or not. The State, The Commonwealth has unlimited funds, clerks, paralegals, and counsel to argue their cause, Where-in-as the criminal defendant most times has nothing and no one to fight their cause or plead their case, and those who do have love ones arguing for them, the love ones most times don’t have the funds, the voice, or the know how to help their (confined) love ones. In every county in Pennsylvania, when a person does not have the funds to pay for counsel, the state has provided a group of lawyers called public defenders. These public defenders are to represent the poor of society for free. There is no doubt in my mind that you would agree these so-called public defenders have failed the public in a whole. Our goal here at Public Defenders Re-Ink (P.D. Re-Ink) is to fill this void by balancing out the scales of justice as much as we can. As the youth of today say, I must keep it real with you; We will not be able to take care of this problem overnight, even though at times it may seem like it did, things did not get this bad overnight. Right now we pray to provide you with all the tools, information you need to better understand your situation and what steps you need to take to better understand your chances at regaining your freedom. In the future we pray to be able to provide you with effective assistance of counsel, (PA Bar Members). That is if it is the will of you the public, we believe it is. We are doing the work and providing the ‘Information’ at little or no cost. We are non- profit, so not one dime donated or paid for any of the publications or services we offer go to any member of the public defenders Re-Ink. It must go back into providing more information, doing more investigation, and we pray in the future to provide counsel for criminal defendant, home and job plans for parolees, with a great number of other projects, one step at a time.
