Agri teachers from multiple districts completed a 4-day intensive Welding PD that will provide AWS certification training for students and 6 hours of possible concurrent credit embedded in their courses. ASU-Newport in Jonesboro trained educators and will serve as our post-secondary partner. What an amazing opportunity for our districts, teachers, and students!

School is OUT for the summer across the state! Teachers and students are enjoying some much needed down time by the pool, on vacation, or sleeping in!

CTE Connections: Sustainability, Design, and Product Development was a hit! We are thankful for experiences that train educators with skills they can take back to their classroom. Teachers received hands-on training, lesson plans, student handouts, and a wealth of knowledge. Thanks to Hampson Archeological Museum State Park for having us!

CRESC CTE Coordinator, Jennifer Snyder, and NWACC Associate VP of Workforce, Starlinda Sanders, presented data on the Enrollment Cliff at the ACTE Region IV Conference in Rogers, AR this week. While there is a continuous decline in the graduation rates across the board for our Region IV states, there is an aggressive increase in enrollment within CTE leading to placement in the 3 E's - Enlistment, Enrollment, and Employment. CTE students are more likely to stay in school and have a higher graduation rate.
