Been a while since I’ve shared any content, so I decided to have some fun with this one! I often have students finding themselves lost when it comes to scale exercises. They play through whatever scale they’re learning, but they’re really not sure what exactly to do with it. Scales are merely the palette of tones from which melodies are created. Sometimes when doing different exercises with scales, you may even stumble across a melody you recognize. It could be a vocal hook from a popular song, or maybe even a line from a timeless film score, like this one! When working on scales, break outside of the box of just running them up and down and see what melodies you can replicate! Not only will it help train your ear, but it can be a lot of FUN!

Hello, all! Been a while since I’ve shared anything on social media (I should probably do better with that 🫠)…

Another tremendous year is coming to a close and what a year it has been! So many students are advancing in ways that I am so incredibly proud of, and I cannot wait to see what 2025 has in store for us!

I’m currently working with one of my Immersed in Music Academy bands on their upcoming debut EP and I could not be more proud of these kids! Started getting a mix together of one of their original songs today; I’m very excited for them to get this record out for others to hear! They’ve put a lot of time and work into writing and recording this material and it shows. Definitely something special developing…it’s so refreshing to see this kind of passion and devotion in our up-and-coming generation of musicians. Very proud instructor, here!

Wow!!! My first year with Immersed in Music Academy already in the books! I’m beyond excited to get started with another year, PLUS, I just had my first two teaching sessions with Cadence Music & Arts Programs! So incredibly grateful for these opportunities and fortunate to be able to work with other amazing instructors 🙏🏻

And OF COURSE…I cannot praise ALL of my students enough, in and outside of these wonderful programs! It has been an awe-inspiring experience to witness your growth; I am so proud of each and every one of you!!!
