It's Time to Apply for PA Pre-K Counts!
Quality pre-kindergarten can give your child a strong start in school and in life. Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts provides free half-day or full-day pre-kindergarten for at-risk children throughout Pennsylvania.
Children and their guardians must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the PA Pre-K Counts program:
They must be residents of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
They must meet the income eligibility requirements of at or below 300% of the federal poverty level for their family size
The child must be between the age of 3 and younger than the Kindergarten entry age for the district in which they reside.
Once these eligibility requirements are met, enrollment procedures are based on local community needs. These procedures may contain other considerations for enrollment, such as; diagnosed disabilities or developmental delays, English as a second language, or any other factor that the program deems as a priority to ensure that their communities’ needs are being served.

Hansel & Gretel Early Learning Center on Londonderry Road is seeking a full-time teachers for our Toddler and Preschool programs.
The ideal candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the general supervision and management of children. This person will be a friendly, energetic, team-orientated person and have a passion to educate and care for young children as well as be able to communicate in a professional manner with families. Candidates are expected to abide by the policies stated in the staff handbook and meet the requirements as stated in the PA DHS Licensing Regulations and Keystone STARS requirements.
The teacher shall be responsible for and/or assist with:
- Work with assigned group of children applying best practices for toddler/ preschool care.
- Facilitate and nurture the development of each child.
- Respond quickly to children’s different and personal needs (verbal and non-verbal cues), temperament styles, abilities, and cultures.
- Document daily individual needs, strengths, interests, attendance, and meal counts for each child.
- Plan and implement lesson plan activities and experiences that are developmentally appropriate.
- Prepare the learning environment for children to learn through active exploration and interaction with adult caregivers.
- Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, parent meetings, parent-caregiver conferences and other duties as assigned.

Today our Summer Camp Kids took a field trip to Lake Tobias, they learned fun facts about each animal! The kids had so much fun and enjoyed the interactive experiences with the animals!

We are looking for a Summer Camp Teacher to supervise grade school children and make sure they learn and have fun. You’ll be responsible for overseeing their activities and ensuring their safety. The job duties of a Camp teacher includes but not limited to planning and preparing games and activities, classroom management, guiding and supervising children, and going on field trips. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of a Summer Camp Teacher. This is a summer seasonal position
Responsibilities
• Plan indoor & outdoor activities and assist with activities
• Lead recreational and educational activities
• Supervise a group of children
• Educate children through games and explorations
• Set up and maintain equipment
• Make sure all safety rules and DHS regulations are followed
• Perform first aid or take care of injuries as needed
• Keep accurate paperwork
• Positive reinforcement
• Attend all fieldtrips
• Be able to participate in water activities and water safety training
• And other duties as assigned

• Organizational and communication skills
• A love for children
• Energetic and positive personality
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to follow strenuous activities like running, crouching, swimming)
• First aid- and CPR-certified preferred
