Upward Bound Class trip to Nashville, TN was success. We had a blast. The trip started off with a campus tour of Austin Peay University in Clarksville, TN. We then got to do a backstage tour of the Famous Grand Ole Opry and dinner at the Rainforest cafe. Day 2 we started our day at the Country Music Hall of Fame, Musicians Hall of Fame, the National Museum of African American Music and the Country Music wax Museum. My students got a chance to become music engineers, vocalist, learn about the STEM of sound and the history of music in America that has influenced many artist that they listen to today.

Today, the SIC Upward Bound staff proudly celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our 2026 Summer Enrichment Students.

Throughout the program, these students demonstrated dedication, resilience, leadership, academic excellence and a commitment to personal growth. We thank all of our students for their participation and look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in the future ahead.

Thanks to the instructors and SIC supporting staff who helps Upward Bound make Summer Enrichment possible each year.

Reminder: Nashville, TN class trip Tuesday July7th-Thursday July9th

Please have your student at SIC main by 6:45am for charter bus departure.

We ask that all parents/ Guardians please drop off and pick up students on the dates about. (This is the only time transportation won’t be provided from high school).

Departure: we will leave SIC main campus on charter bus at 7:30am Tuesday July 7th.

Return: we should return no later than 12:45pm Thursday, July 9th.

We should return back to SIC no later than 6:00pm. However, we will provide notice if that time changes. Carmi and NCOE will return to their HS on our way back to SIC.
